As a racing driver, 2024 was the year I fulfilled my mission of being an ambassador for motorsport, both on and off the track.
I was honoured to be selected as the first UK Youth Ambassador and #iWill Champion for UK Youth, the country’s leading youth work charity, with Nigel Mansell as its president.
In August, my car was proudly displayed in the iconic Silverstone Hotel Lobby, showcasing the Thornton Chartered Financial Planners logo, as I officially announced my ambassadorship. I hope to use this opportunity to inspire others, just as Nigel Mansell has inspired so many of us.
This year also marked my first full season of racing, competing in three different championships and gaining invaluable experience across a range of disciplines.
I had my first taste of single-seater racing in the GB4 Championship, competed in the Ginetta Junior Programme with Elite Motorsport, and took on endurance racing in the Fun Cup.
Each experience has sharpened my skills, pushing me to grow as a driver. 2024 has truly been a year where dreams have become reality.
Looking Ahead to 2025: Balancing Racing and Academics
Excitement for 2025 is an understatement. However, with my A-level exams in June, it will be a year of balancing academic commitments with my racing ambitions.
I was fortunate to receive an offer to study mechanical engineering at Southampton University, ranked the best in the UK for the subject outside Oxbridge.
However, I plan to defer my place to focus on competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) for the remainder of 2025.
Preparing for the Future: The Road to the Nürburgring
Looking ahead to 2026, my goal is to secure the prestigious ‘Ring Licence’, a vital step in my journey to becoming a world-class endurance racer. This will involve completing the same rigorous programme undertaken by top drivers across all disciplines to qualify for racing at the Nürburgring, famously known as the ‘Green Hell.’ This challenge will be instrumental in refining my racecraft, speed, and consistency at one of the most demanding circuits in the world.
Gratitude and the Journey Ahead
While 2024 was a year of incredible achievements, I know this is just the beginning.
I am proud to represent the Isle of Man as a Manx racing driver and am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my sponsors, especially Thornton Chartered Financial Planners. Their belief in me from the very start has been instrumental in making my dreams a reality.
As we head into 2025, I am more motivated than ever to continue striving for excellence and pushing my limits on the track.
