This past year has been a whirlwind of challenges and achievements for me.
Following the exhilarating experiences at Birmingham last year, I decided to step back a bit to focus on achieving a healthier work-life-training balance.
Despite this, the first half of the season was marked by some notable successes, including several top-10 finishes and a commendable 14th place at the Lincoln GP, which was a personal highlight.
As the year progressed, my schedule became quieter from July onwards. Nonetheless, I maintained a consistent training regime, competed in local races, and steadily built momentum for the upcoming year.
Being part of a team this season has been an enriching experience. However, balancing my commitments in the Isle of Man with the demands of a UK-based team presented logistical challenges.
Looking ahead, I’m thrilled to have secured entries in prestigious gravel races in the US and Spain. In addition, I plan to participate in UK road races.
I’ve decided to compete as a privateer next year, a move I believe will offer greater flexibility in logistics and planning.
This season might not have met all my expectations, but it was a valuable learning experience. It has set the foundation for what I anticipate will be a more successful season in 2024.
My passion for cycling and racing remains as strong as ever, and I’m entering the new year with a sense of optimism and excitement.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Thornton Financial Planners for their unwavering support this year. Sharon and Julian, your generosity and kindness have been deeply appreciated.
