I am very much looking forward to a diverse calendar of racing this year – a mix of international gravel and UK road races.
For Gravel, the main events are Traka 200 in May, which takes place in Girona, and Unbound, a 200-mile race in June, which takes place in Kansas (both very well-known and popular races). There will also be some gravel events in the UK, including the August Raiders stage race in Dumfries.
Unbound is an A event for me, so currently remains a key focus in my training, including long endurance rides on weekends.
Regarding road racing, I hope to race the UK national series rounds from June/July onwards. The UK national championships will also likely be on the calendar.
I am also using the local events to include some intensity, hoping that this will bode well come June, when the focus in training will switch from ultra-endurance to road racing.
I also wanted to share about a recent collaboration with a new UK domestic team – The Pho3nix Collective—a gathering of kindred spirits, bound by a shared ethos and determination. Originally I intended to navigate the season alone, but combined with a renewed sense of motivation this year, I felt well-aligned with their values to join them this season.
